Boardroom Changes at Singlepoint Holdings
The board of Singlepoint Holdings Ltd met on December 14th with the dual objective of ensuring continuity of leadership on the board, and rejuvenating senior management.
The board appointed Lord Gilbert, currently Chairman of Singlepoint Holdings, to be Life President, with a seat on all Singlepoint Group boards. It was also agreed that, should Lord Gilbert become in any way incapacitated, his board position would become available to Lady Gilbert. The meeting appointed Mr Simon Stringer to the Board, and also appointed him to replace Lord Gilbert as Chairman. Mr Stringer, a former Royal Marine, has had a distinguished business career in British Aerospace and QinetiQ, and is currently CEO of Becatech Security Solutions and Technologies. Lord Gilbert said he was delighted with these changes, which relieve him from day-to-day responsibilities for the company’s affairs, and release him to act as a “global ambassador” for the Group.
At this same meeting, Mr Jeff Wearing tendered his resignation from the board, due the increasing demands on his time from his other commitments with the NHS and the Police. He also felt that his departure at this juncture would give the incoming chairman more freedom of action. The board thanked Mr Wearing warmly for his invaluable contributions to the company over the past two years, and for his offer of future availability as a source of advice.
