Real World Solutions

Mind the gap

A leading multinational is building a new treasury management solution. Output from that solution is transferred to SWIFT, the electronic money transfer system. The Company needs to be able to prove that the instruction sent from the treasury management solution is the instruction acted on by SWIFT. There is a gap in the chain of custody of the data. TruSeal is being evaluated as a way of closing that gap.

Addressing cyber security concerns

Cyber security is much in the news with the passing of new laws and appointment of high level cyber security czars in many countries. This is a response to increased levels of activity, some of it state sponsored. The history of incursions to military and intelligence networks, to defense contractors and to systems comprising national critical infrastructure is well documented. The threat has evolved from that of theft of information to the more subtle, and in some ways more scary, threat of undetected modification of information to create misinformation.

Of course, the primary response should be to do everything possible to prevent a breach but, increasingly, there is a recognition that a multi-tiered approach is appropriate including the demonstration of the absence of manipulation using TruSeal. TruSeal can be upgraded and configured to meet the stringent requirements of classified environments.

Healthcare

Electronic medical records and health information exchanges are key to the transformation of healthcare worldwide. In the USA, massive investments are being made. Personal health information is extremely sensitive data. As the Department of Health and Human Services has recognised (External Link) there is a duty to ensure that this information is accurate and had not been tampered with. TruSeal is being evaluated as part of an early pilot project to achieve this level of integrity without reliance on paper.

Intellectual Property Protection

Many digital assets, including audio, video, images, need to be protected against plagiarism and piracy. TruSeal is already being used by a major defence contractor to protect its patent applications and supporting documentation. TruSeal can be used to check anywhere for duplicates of any digital information regardless of file type. Data can be personalised for every legitimate customer such that it will be possible to identify the pirate copy and the channel via which it was obtained.

Global Communications Company & Sarbanes Oxley

Extracts data from their accounting systems at subsidiary level and before they are consolidated into group accounts the data is “TruSealed” to ensure that they conform to Sarbanes Oxley 404 requirements. In the event of an investigation, discrepancies can be tracked down to individual months and subsidiaries.

Preventing Unauthorised Tampering.

A computer services company sends letters of confirmation to staff and customers in PDF format. One of the recipients of such a letter fraudulently altered the document to defraud the organisation. Using “TruSeal” shows any recipient that data integrity is a high priority for the organisation thereby dissuading malfeasance and detecting unauthorised tampering. The organisation can rely on electronic communications and can reduce courier and postage costs. They can also demonstrate their “green” credentials by finding a more environmental friendly way of communications whilst conforming to regulatory compliance requirments.

Secure Communication And Storage Company

One of TruData Integrity’s partners has developed a data security product, a unique, highly secure, remote working and collaboration service.

It uses a revolutionary data key to secure browsing history and data storage. They provide a secure communications channel to a secure storage facility and leave no history of usage on the host machine. Data can be created and stored in a secure vault that may have access privileges provided to other users to share information. TruSeal adds demonstrable integrity to this value proposition.

A typical application is for correspondence to the Board of Directors of a company where all board documents, including Board minutes are stored in a remote secure location and can be accessed by accredited individuals. Originals are selaed and then “signed off” by Board members to show that they have read and endorsed the contents.

Insurance Market

An Insurance Broker needs to capture the savings in cost and time that are derived from working electronically. Furthermore they need to ensure contract certainty. i.e. that they can demonstrate that all terms of the contract and variations to the contract have been agreed by all parties. TruSeal is applied to ensure that there is an irrefutable audit trail around the contract and subsequent variations thereto.

Providing Trust In Software Code

A Software company applies TruSeal to software releases distributed to customers. The Customer can validate that the code is correct and can then be installed with confidence. TruSeal can be used to verify that the correct release is used. A successfully validated TruSeal demonstrates the integrity of applications, applets and macros such that malware has not been inserted into the software post sealing.
